Around the time a new Pokémon game is announced, the same old criticisms are always thrown around. The naysayers will always point towards the fact that the game changes so little each generation, and that the new Pokémon designs aren’t nearly as good as they used to be. Usually I’ll defend the series to the last, but it’s tough to argue against these claims in most cases. Thankfully, things might finally be changing. Mega Evolutions look like the perfect way to shake up the formula while keeping old fans happy, but only if they’re used sparingly and carefully.

Pokémon X and Y – Thoughts and Predictions

Big fan of pokemon games since i was small. Can’t wait to play this one. Love the new evolutions!

t’s just over a month now until the newest Pokémon games, and first in the 6th generation, Pokémon X and Y are released worldwide. For starters that’s a big milestone – traditionally western gamers have had to wait months, even approaching more than a years time after the games’ initial release in Japan to get their hands on a copy. With X and Y however, the games will be released on the exact same day in all territories – 12th October (which is most conveniently the same day Nintendo will release their new, cheaper handheld, the 2DS). Gone are the days of painstakingly waiting to get your hands on a copy of the game and obsessing over Japanese screenshots of the new game (speaking somewhat from experience here). Even the dedicated among fans who made their own translations need a new reason to put their Japanese skills to test…
